New way of hybrid working offers opportunity for acquisition of Rockmart and Profeq.

Family owned businesses Rockmart and Profeq Professional have been active as a retailer and wholesaler in office furniture for over 33 years. The acquisition by Globitas gives a strong boost to the growth ambitions of Rockmart and Profeq. With the new shareholder, the companies are entering a new phase with a focus on hybrid working, innovation, digitization and innovative business models.

Hybrid working is not a temporary trend.

The office furniture market has been forced to adapt as a result of Covid-19. “The fact that people are going to work more from home and work more hybrid is not a temporary trend. Offices are used differently. They are flexible workplaces and above all a place to meet each other. Sometimes it looks more like a cool clubhouse than a dusty office.” according to Gijs van Dam of Globitas. “As a result, these developments are thriving e-commerce and new business models. As an agile, entrepreneurial organization with efficient inventory management, flexible service and delivery capacity, the company is well placed to tackle these changes and the upcoming trends.” In addition to new customer segments in the sectors such as healthcare and education, the company will focus on new product groups such as outdoor and own sustainable and design products. “We want to innovate in the field of circularity and collaborate with existing players in other sectors, such as healthcare, to offer a complementary product range,” says van Dam.

Profeq

Family owned.

Wicher Drenth has been associated with the family business since 1988 as founder and general manager. Shortly after the foundation, brother Jacky Drenth also joined the company. At the end of 2013, the activities of father Wim Drenth, the founder and owner of Profeq B.V. where taken over.

The success of the company is driven by a wide inventory of office furniture, which is directly available because of its large stockholding position. The brothers therefore look with pride at the company that they will handover to Globitas. “We have made Rockmart and Profeq what it is today as a true family business. We have experienced a lot in the past thirty-three years and we can therefore look back on a beautiful period. The company has always done well during challenging years and we’ve used the positive years to take steps forward. We also owe this to our staff and to our many loyal customers and suppliers. With Globitas as the new shareholder of our company, we see a very bright future ahead," said Wicher Drenth.
